The Best Companies for Women Award sub-activity is aimed at acknowledging and recognizing companies that understand the importance of women’s economic empowerment and are willing to redefine their hiring and recruitment processes and organizational practices, improve their facilities, and build a corporate culture suited for women’s growth in the male-dominated energy sector.
The activity logic follows several global examples that reward employers for positive social outcomes such as diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) practices, clean energy transformation, and employee satisfaction metrics. Globally, it has been seen that firms with above-median women’s representation on their management teams benefit from a 30 percent higher return on equity, compared to their lower ranked peers. Thus, these companies would be looking not only at an improved brand name but also better market value.
The Best Companies for Women Award is designed to incentivize companies in the energy and adjacent sectors to take actions that enable them to increase their attractiveness as desirable employers for women and benefit from a diverse workforce through increasing the share of women employed, retained, or promoted in Energy for Equality participant companies.
The Awards will be hosted by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Kosovo and the Agency for Gender Equality of the Republic of Kosovo.
To enhance the contribution of the Awards sub-activity to the overall Energy for Equality objective, there will be provided workshops for companies to identify best practices, assess their current human resources practices and develop strategies for gender integration within their organizations.
